Do they affect neck pain?

Sure do.

Learn how below.

What Pillow is Right for Me?

In most cases, if you've ever experienced neck pain after trying to sleep, the problem isn't your mattress.

It's your pillow.

Side Sleepers

Since a side sleeper normally has their shoulder underneath them while laying down, they should normally seek a pillow with a higher loft and more support. In some cases, it depends on the breadth of the shoulders, but in all cases a side sleeper should be careful not to use flat pillows or underfilled shredded material, which can shift inside the cover while you sleep.

back sleepers

Sleeping on your back provides you with the most flexibility when it comes to pillow selection. As long as there is some level of support on the neck, back sleepers can often select what feels best. In most cases, thinner pillows will be most effective in proper spine alignment.

stomach sleepers

Most of what you read will say that if you have neck pain and are a stomach sleeper, you should try and train yourself to be a back sleeper. That's entirely a bad idea, but there still can be hope. First, you need to prioritize a thin pillow. Second, you consider a second thin pillow to be placed under your pelvis.
